About the Position:This position is assigned to the divisions of the G 3/5/7. It serves as the secretary to the Division Director and Deputy.
About the Surrounding Area: In Southwest Oklahoma and historic Fort Sill. Lawton/Fort Sill is surrounded by a national treasure, the Wichita Wildlife Refuge. Thousands of acres for hiking, open ranges for buffalo, elk, longhorn and other wildlife. Lawton/Fort Sill is just 50 minutes from Oklahoma City and about three hours from Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas.
Duties
Using office automation equipment and software and various software packages including, but not limited to, MS Office including word processing, database functions, desk-top publishing, spreadsheet functions, graphics, email, and calendar functions
Receives calls, greets visitors, and directs to Director, Deputy Director and Sergeant Major only those contacts needing their attention or action.
Prepares travel requests.
Send out invites to meetings and complete sign in sheets and minutes as required.
Send out reminders for objective deadlines.
Maintains ready-reference files of frequently consulted regulations, policies, rosters, directives, and other material.
Establishes and maintains lists and registers, by various categories, of persons or organizations frequently contacted.
Requirements
- The work requires travel up to 10% of the time away from home station (TDY).
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Permanent Change of Station (PCS) Expenses are NOT authorized.
- Defense National Relocation Program will NOT be authorized.
- The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Providing administrative clerical support; screening incoming calls and visitors; maintaining a calendar; scheduling appointments and meetings; reviewing correspondence; maintaining files; operating a computer; payroll; preparing travel requests. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Computer Skills, Oral Communication, and Organizational Awareness
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
