The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the Integrated Resilience Training Branch.

Duties

Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Integrated Resilience Training Branch, ensuring that Integrated Resilience Training function, complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Represents Integrated Resilience Training Branch with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Provides guidance to other DAF elements concerning DAF-wide planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating new or revised DAF training and education policies, procedures, and programs concerning resilience, interpersonal and self-directed violence prevention, and sexual assault prevention and response matters.

  • Work occasionally requires travel away from the normal duty station

  • This is a supervisory position. A one (1) year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: knowledge of the policies, principles, concepts, guidance, procedures, techniques, and methodologies pertaining to the requirements for community and families support delivery systems, to develop, implement and improve programs and draw supportable conclusions; principles and techniques of social system design to analyze and make recommendations with regard to education and training program objectives, policies, delivery systems and resources to improve accessibility, responsiveness and relevance to the mission and the needs of its members; and the knowledge of federal laws, executive orders, regulations, policies, directives, principles, and practices governing integrated resilience and community programs, and the common types of these in effect in state and local governments, carried out at the installation level and in local communities. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of a range of management, planning, and measurement concepts, principles, practices, and methodologies currently in use by the Department of Air Force, DoD, and private industry. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to prepare special studies and staff reports including the ability to meet emergency and/or changing program requirements within available resources and with minimum sacrifice of quality or quantity of work. Ability to gather facts and use effective, analytical, and evaluative methods to accurately assess information and make sound problem solving decisions. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
