LOCATION: This position is located in various locations within the San Francisco Region.
TOUR OF DUTY: Monday through Friday - 8 hours per day. The availability of flextime and/or AWS is not guaranteed and will vary with assignments.
TYPE OF POSITION: These positions will be filled on a temporary basis, NTE one year; may not be extended and will not become permanent. Assignments can vary in duration from 30 days to 6 months.

This position provides for placement in supervisory assignments as part of the Social Security Administration (SSA) Region IX Bridge Program. This is a formal career development program established to develop supervisory skills and competencies as well as basic leadership skills and to provide the foundation for an effective management career. The participants spend one year in the program in a supervisory developmental assignment. The Bridge Program provides supervisory and managerial experience and training to Region IX employees at the GS-12 grade levels. Associates will have assignments that focus on the fundamentals of supervision and agency competencies. Associates will also participate in supplementary developmental opportunities such as creating and conducting presentations for other program participants and/or mentors on managing work, developing others, and giving and receiving feedback. Developmental assignments may include assignments to positions in components such as the Field Offices, Teleservice Centers, Program Service Center. Some assignments may be virtual.

Requirements

Qualifications
These positions may be filled by temporary promotion or lateral reassignment.
Candidates must have the following:
52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience include knowledge of SSA programs, mission, administrative operations, or business processes.

Applicants for promotion must have 52 weeks at GS-11.
