As an Information Technology Specialist with the Exploration Research & Technologies Programs Directorate you will be the focal point for all information technology (IT) requirements, including IT security compliance and technical consultation with management and contractors on IT management issues. You will support contractor implementation and reporting of new Federal and Agency IT mandates.
Duties
Provide Information Technology (IT) support such as supplying computers, desk phones, cell phones and all the integration, interoperability and implementation.
Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities while collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and enforce cybersecurity policies and procedures.
Participate in program/project planning and budget execution cost development, financial reviews, and schedule development for IT support to accomplish organization requirements for the programs/projects.
Communicate with technical, peer, and management customers making recommendations or choosing approaches to resolve issues and concerns.
Ensure appropriate agency, program, and center requirements are imposed on activities on organizational websites and assures requirement compliance.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level:
Providing IT support through one or more of the following areas: troubleshooting, configuration, testing of new operating system patches, upgrading security patches, conducting risk assessments and vulnerability scans;
Coordinating and providing expertise for requirements with Information Technology contracts and bring forward recommendations to Senior Management;
Communicating with internal and external customers to resolve IT issues or concerns.
AND
IF you are qualifying based on experience, you MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
