The Network and Telecommunication Services Branch at Kennedy Space Center (KSC) is seeking to fill an Information Technology Specialist position. You will serve as a senior specialist for KSC Network and Telephone Systems responsible for the planning, development, installation, operations, and maintenance in support of aerospace communications systems and facilities (e.g., Exploration Ground Systems, Commercial Crew, KSC Institution, International Space Station and the Launch Services Programs).
Duties
Serve as technical lead for Distributed Antenna Systems for an assigned Center and serve as the Technical Point of Contact for the Enterprise Distributed Antenna System services.
Serve as the technical lead for Telephony/VOIP services for an assigned Center and serve as the backup Enterprise Technical Point of Contact for the Enterprise Telephony/VOIP services.
Maintain technical insight into the cause and the plan of action when damaged, failed, or otherwise nonconforming hardware, equipment, or systems are encountered, such as troubleshooting unprecedented communication systems issues and problems.
Maintain contact with contractors to discuss and resolve technical, operational, and/or cybersecurity problems in areas such as Network and Telephone Systems.
Apply detailed knowledge of NASA's Enterprise Network and Telephone Systems architecture and interfaces to meet NASA and other government agencies communications requirements with maximum efficiency.
Develop and update NASA budgets associated with Network and Telephone systems from the different funding sources.
Interface directly with OCIO organizations including the Comm Program and make technical recommendations for policy determination and implementation of the Enterprise Network and Telephone Communications Systems.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level.
Resolving technical, operational, and/or cybersecurity problems with network and communications facilities and services;
Providing network and engineering planning support in the integration and management of Distributed Antenna Systems and architecture; and
Providing technical guidance and engineering planning support of Telephone/VOIP systems and architecture to support telecommunication equipment or systems.
AND
IF you are qualifying based on experience, you MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
