This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Human Resources Division (HR), Health Suitability Unit (HRUS).
This position(s) primary purpose is assisting in planning and implementing the DEA's Drug Deterrence Program (DDP) and monitoring contractors' performance, urine collection and screening. Incumbent has primary responsibility for initiating, designing, monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating DEA's substance abuse prevention services.

As a Drug Deterrence Program Manageryour typical work assignments may include:
Developing DEA Drug Deterrence Program goals and objectives covering all facets of the program as it pertains to all DEA employees.
Serves as a technical expert in the assessment and improvement of the Drug Deterrence Program effectiveness.
Developing instructions and guidance for implementation of the DEA's drug testing program agency wide.
Coordinating with contractors to arrange office testing and collection from employees.
Developing and presenting executive briefings and makes on-site visits to field offices and various DEA training classes to explain and/or answer questions and defend procedures concerning the Drug Deterrence Program.
Requirements

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. Qualification claims will be subject to verification.
Specialized Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the normal line of progress for the occupation in the organization. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled.
Specialized experience is defined as performing the following duties: 1) Reviewing positive test results to detect patterns; 2) Overseeing the development and implementation of a drug testing program to include urinalysis programs, reasonable suspicion processes, staff training/certification, and program evaluation; 3) Analyzing reports, statistical data, and metrics which can be used to measure trends and makes recommendations for Drug Deterrence program improvement.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
