You will serve as a Automotive Worker in the HEAVY REPAIR SECTION, MAINTENANCE BRANCH of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.

Duties

You will maintain, repair, and overhaul combustion-powered automotive vehicles, over-the-road trucks, and comparable vehicles. You will remove, replace, adjust, or clean defective parts or components such as fouled spark plugs, worn brake shoes, water pumps, engine gaskets, belts and hoses, etc. You will replace complete assemblies by removing a damaged engine and replacing it with a new engine. You will adjust brakes, transmission linkages, engine idle, voltage and current control valves, expansion valves and pressure regulator valves. You will perform automotive servicing such as recovering, evacuating and recharging air conditioners. You will perform visual inspection, auditory checks and/or tests on the ignition, fuel and electrical systems.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• You will be required to possess your own tools.
