About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency. It is located within the Director of Clinical Support Dept of Radiology at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Eisenhower in Augusta, Georgia. The primary purpose is to serve as the focal point for all purchases, procurements, and acquisitions. Duties include purchases of standard and non-standard supplies.

Duties

Utilize automated files to maintain the status of requisitions, to include vendors, supply technicians and inventory managers, for medical and non-medical supplies. Ensure all transactions and funds are properly approved for expenditure prior to submission. Conduct extensive and exhaustive research of catalog information to locate more cost effective, available substitutes and new products. Prepare requisitions and supporting documents to purchase medical and non-medical items. Determine stock levels needed for non-recurring, specialized supply items based on usage, inventory, project demand, seasonal demand, changing customer needs, and projected depletion. Research potential errors in records and reports and initiates action to reconcile or correct errors. Maintain liaison with customers and other local offices resulting in effective and timely handling of urgent, critical shortage, and other special items. Input, catalog and maintain a log of all purchases in automated systems such as Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) and the U.S. Bank Access Online.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A favorable National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) may be required for this position.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment physical examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience utilizing automated logistic systems to track and order non-medical and medical supplies; and maintaining records reports of expenditures/purchasing requests; and prepare requisitions and supporting documents for medical supplies ensuring accuracy; and reviewing supply requests for correctness and/or possible substitution. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
