The position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of Safety and Code Compliance (OSCC). Develops communications program vision and plan for the AOC. Implements communications strategies for each OSCC (safety, fire, environmental and building official). Develops written communications (bulletins, fact sheets, brochures, posters, messaging, and presentations) to help the AOC meet agency directives.
Duties
The purpose of the position is to provide support in communicating information about SCC services, programs and policies to employees, managers, supervisors, Member of Congress, Congressional Staff and other audiences.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Candidates for the GS-13 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as having knowledge and experience: (1) Writing technical and non-technical safety and occupational health, fire prevention, accessibility and environmental compliance principles and application; (2) Corresponding with high level state, local, federal authorities, Congressional members, media , and/or executive members of an organization; (3) Developing communication content, such as talking points, bulletins, brochures, blog posts, feature stories, briefings and presentation of information (4) Managing projects from initial concept and scope development, through reviews and approval, design and production to completion.
