Duties

You will assist other Naval Postgraduate School employees with the process for submitting work orders, following up, and inquiring as to order status. You will coordinate the day-to-day operations of the facilities, normal maintenance schedules, minor construction, and minor renovation projects. You will identify opportunities for improvements in the functionality of accommodations. You will provide guidance on and monitor compliance with DoD and Navy policies regarding organizing and hosting conferences. You will complete and submit required funding documents for authorized purchases, projects, and facility equipment and repair. You will evaluate the material condition, space utilization, proper upkeep, and cleanliness of the workplace.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-9 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting in conducting and coordinating zone inspections of assigned buildings; 2) Serving as point of contact for coordination of facility work order requests; 3) Applying knowledge of equipment, machinery and facilities to identify and review maintenance/repair work orders; and 4) Providing general facility support to include placing purchase orders, organizing projects and preparing for special events. GS-7 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Serving as point of contact for coordination of facility work order requests; 2) Preparing special reports, summaries, or replies to inquiries by compiling data and statistics from various departmental resources; 3) Applying knowledge of equipment, machinery and facilities to identify and review maintenance/repair work orders; and 4) Providing general facility support to include placing purchase orders, organizing projects and preparing for special events. GS-5 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing special reports, summaries, or replies to inquiries by compiling data and statistics from various departmental resources; 2) Applying knowledge of equipment, machinery and facilities to identify and review maintenance/repair work orders; and 3) Providing general facility support to include placing purchase orders, organizing projects and preparing for special events. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

For GS-9
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
