This position is located in the Division of Nursing Services, Ambulatory Nursing Services, in the Pediatric Clinic Nursing Department. Incumbent serves as the Supervisor for the Pediatric Clinic nursing and clinical support staff. The incumbent also serves as an RN by directing and supporting the Clinical Care Coordinator, Certified Medical Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Medical Support Assistants. This position is located in Phoenix, AZ.

Duties

The incumbent is directly responsible for the clinical services provided by nursing and clinical support staff in the Pediatric Clinic Nursing. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work; assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments. Reviews the clinical practices and procedures and directs the activities of the Pediatric nursing and clinical support staff in accordance with the objectives of the Indian Health Service. Responsible for setting performance standards and completing evaluations of all disciplines under their supervision to meet performance expectations for patient centered services. Incumbent is required to maintain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's license. Works on a regularly assigned, rotational or call back basis to provide continuity of nursing services during evenings, nights, holidays and weekends.

Education: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. In addition to the above requirements, applicants must meet one of the following requirements, OR Completed a degree from Foreign Nursing School and have an Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools. License: Applicants must have active, current registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS,GS-0610-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent with particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This specialized experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-11 in the Federal service as described in the vacancy announcement.
