This TRAINING TECHNICIAN is located at an Air National Guard (ANG) Wing, Mission Support Group, Force Support Squadron (FSS), Force Development Office and is part of the CA 163 ATKW.
Duties
THIS IS A T5 EXCEPTED SERVICE, TEMPORARY POSITION NOT TO EXCEED ONE YEAR
Selectee may be non-competitively extended up to 4 years if/when funding becomes available.
The primary purpose of the TRAINING TECHNICIAN, GS-1702-7/9, is to serve as the Force Development Manager and office of primary responsibility (OPR) for unit training programs managed in support of the Wing and its geographically separated units (GSUs). The office provides technical guidance and assistance to commanders, managers, and supervisors at all levels regarding education and training programs in support of federal, state and local missions, ensuring programs are in place to manage upgrade, qualification, in-garrison, expeditionary training and other military training functions as well as to administer post high school technical education and college programs.
Qualifications
TRAINING TECHNICIAN, GS-1702-07 (Trainee): Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-05 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by: Experience in scheduling training events and facilities; supporting assistance visits and training meetings; or assisting in work center and individual job qualification standard development; education institution registration requirements; and military personnel classification system and policies. Experience in the capabilities of communicative interpersonal skill applications and distance learning concepts. Experience as a participant and presenter during training and military or civilian conference events.
TRAINING TECHNICIAN, GS-1702-09: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-07 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by: Experiences that demonstrated the particular of competencies - knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors to successfully perform the duties of the position; Knowledge of Army or Air Force vision, values, organization, policy, and mission is mandatory; Knowledge in training centers, training programs, schools, and units for these systems. Have experiences in conducting and developing education and training programs; Conducting, supervising, or developing education or training programs; Knowledge in the Army or Air Force education and training policy requirements; Managing programs to include developmental education, voluntary education, advanced academic education, promotion testing, and libraries; Knowledge is mandatory of audio-visual presentations, educational tests and measurements, and instructing techniques.
TRAINEE POSITION: Applicants not meeting full qualifications for the GS-09 position indicated above may be considered for GS-07 trainee, if qualified. Statement-of-Difference of qualification requirements for each are indicated. If appointed as trainee, the selectee may be non-competitively promoted to GS-09 upon meeting full qualifications and recommendations of supervisor.
