This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, District 5 - Corrections in Billings, Montana. This is a progressively responsible position in which the incumbent performs a variety of administrative and programmatic responsibilities necessary for the proper management of the District Corrections Office.
Duties
Performs a wide variety of administrative tasks associated with maintaining and supporting the work performed within the District Office.
Assists in the planning, review, and reporting of data/statistical results of program/project studies. Establishes protocols for incoming data, organizes computerized data sets, and retrieves computerized data.
Develops routine plans or schedules using standard references and existing information.
Performs work involving the collection, compilation, and/or tracking of data and statistical information in support of the Districts program operation. Serves as the point of contact with lead responsibility for the databases for the District.
Prepares written reports, oral briefings, correspondence, meeting agenda, studies, evaluations, etc., that contains confidential information for the Special Agent in Charge.

- Indian Affairs has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework only during an emergency or natural disaster.
- The full performance level of this position is GS-13.
Qualifications
GS-7 Minimum Qualification:
One year experience performing office administrative functions such as, collecting and tracking budget, financial, or performance date, procuring office supplies, using standard office software to create spreadsheets, correspondence and reports, answering telephones and scheduling travel; assist with evaluating law enforcement programs and developing recommendations for improvement; interact with people of all levels of an office in order to reach the objectives of the office.

Education: 1 year of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree or a Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement* in a related field of study OR a combination of specialized experience and education that totals 100% of the experience requirement.
GS-9 Minimum Qualifications
One year experience analyzing financial, budget or performance data in an office setting; evaluating the administrative operations of a law enforcement office and identifying ways to improve office functionality; preparing written reports and/or present oral briefings on administrative functions and programs for a law enforcement office; collaborating and building effective working relationships with key stakeholders such as the media, community members, Tribal governments and the general public to achieve common goals with law enforcement programs.

Education: 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree or a LL.B or J.D., in a related field of study OR a combination of specialized experience and education that totals 100% of the experience requirement.
GS-11 Minimum Qualifications
In addition to meeting the qualifications at the lower grade levels, you must have at least one year of experience at the GS-09 grade level or equivalent performing the following duties: managing financial, budget, or operations data for an office; planning and coordinating a variety of administrative support functions of an office to include: credit card purchases, reconciliation of statements, completing requisitions for procurement; analyzing news articles; proofreading news releases or social media for grammar and content.

Education: 3 full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or a L.L.M. in a related field of study OR a combination of specialized experience and education that totals 100% of the experience requirement.

If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
