Duties
Oversees the overall planning, direction, execution, and revision of long-range plans, goals and objectives within the Montana Area Office for the Facility O&M Division, Power Division, Yellowtail Division, Canyon Ferry Division, and Marias/Milk Rivers Division.
Provides managerial oversight and direction for the development, execution, and coordination of assigned programs, investigations, and special studies.
Serves as a key advisor and representative for the Area Manager in the geographic area and represents Reclamation in dealings with various private and public interests and in dealing with key political figures who serve the interests of the public.
Plans, organizes, and oversees efforts and initiatives that are aimed at achieving and improving employee morale, work-life balance and job satisfaction.
Plays a key role in the development and implementation of program policies, plans, guidelines, proposals, processes and recommendations on various issues.
Qualifications

GS-14:
Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-13 level in federal service demonstrating experience managing work activities and supervising employees in a large and complex technical natural resource, water management, power production, or engineering organization; performing program management or professional engineering, natural resources, or scientific work as it relates to at least one of the following major programs: water resources, water storage facilities, water distribution systems, power production facilities, land resources or environmental compliance activities; and collaborating with representatives of federal, state, local, or tribal governments.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-In-Grade: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower-grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements, including time-in-grade restrictions and any selective placement factors if applicable, by 04/29/2024.
