You will serve as a Public Affairs Specialist in the Corporate Business & Analysis Group, Command Communications Department of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.
Duties
You will Act as the Public Affairs Site Lead for the Public Affairs Branch.
You will review materials for clarity and consistency based on Navy policies and Associated Press and local style guides.
You will represent the public affairs office in meetings with other command functional offices as required.
You will conducts review of infor. material (press releases, feature stories, speeches, scripts, brochures, presentations and similar materials) prior to public or internal release to ensure accuracy, security propriety and policy guidelines are met.
You will advise NAWCWD leadership on community relations issues and programs.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
DA-05
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DA-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following:1) Developing and executing communication plans and strategic communications products to align command messaging with strategic guidance and higher headquarters communication goals; 2) Developing, writing, editing, reviewing, and approving materials in multiple formats for release to internal and external audiences, including speeches, articles, presentations, etc.; 3) Responding to requests for information, independently researching responses and using the appropriate format, tone, and style based on needs and organization practices; 4) Planning and executing community engagement and VIP activities; and 5) Advising personnel and command leadership on communication issues impacting the command.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DA-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Developing, writing, editing, reviewing, and approving materials in multiple formats for release to internal and external audiences; 2) Responding in oral and written form to requests for information, researching responses and using the appropriate format and style based on needs and organization practices; 3) Planning and executing community engagement and VIP activities; and 4) Managing web and social media content.

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
