About the Position: This position is assigned to the Mat Sinking Unit serving as lead foreman for 2-12 positions, in charge of daily accomplishment of maintenance and repair of a variety of floating plant and engineer equipment, and operation of mat boat internal electrical and mechanical equipment. NOTE: The duty location of this position will be wherever the Mat Sinking Unit is located.

Duties

Receives instructions regarding nonrecurring job assignments from superior and plans distribution of work assignments and methods for accomplishment for assigned group on a day-to-day or job basis. Furnishes recommendations to superior, on request, concerning work records and other qualifications of subordinate employees being considered for promotion or reassignment. Makes informal appraisal of performance of individual group members. Recommends disciplinary actions and commendations. Acts to improve operating efficiency of own work group by bringing to attention of superior suggestions and methods for organization improvement. In a non-supervisory capacity, performs Journeyman Engineering Equipment Repair work on diesel and gasoline powered Equipment.
