Duties
Serves as the supervisor, expert advisor, and the primary expert consultant to the highest levels of officials and management in the organization segments serviced for the functional area of classification and position management.
Responsible for the planning and management of the Classification Program for Department of Defense agencies and activities serviced by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).
Manages a variety of complex administrative programs and carries out HR functions to include position evaluation.
Establishes and maintains a world class classification program to determine appropriate pay system, occupational grouping, title and grade of positions.
Conducts desk audits and reclassification requests, position management, and advises on position and organization design for serviced agencies and activities, at both CONUS and OCONUS locations.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Classification) your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Managing, overseeing, advising and auditing a Federal civilian Classification program and processes.
Planning, organizing, and conducting classification projects, including research and resolution of complex Federal civilian human resources problems.
Making final determinations on controversial classification/position management situations utilizing knowledge of classification principles and standards.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
