Duties
Serves as a full deputy and site manager for a DLA HR Operations, DLA Customers office.
Provides expert technical advice on a wide variety of human resources issues.
Plans, develops, and implements policies, procedures, and HR programs in multiple HR disciplines.
Participates in operations planning with top-level management and evaluates new programs or program changes for the impact on HR mission, policies, processes, and procedures.
Ensures programs comply with federal law and OPM, DoD, and agency regulations and policies.
Represents the Director on HR management and program issues at higher levels and develops and delivers briefings on routine, controversial, or complex HR matters.

Qualifications
To qualify for an Assistant Human Resources Officer, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Evaluating a variety of HR programs or services for efficiency, effectiveness, and customer service objectives and recommending improvements.
Leading a team of HR professionals, ensuring goals are accomplished within established metrics timeframes.
Briefing senior executives, organizational leadership, and HR professionals to convey program objectives and requirements for multiple HR disciplines.
Providing technical and administrative guidance in a wide range of Federal civilian HR areas, such as staffing, processing, classification, employee relations, or other HR management
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
