This position is located in the Headquarters (HQ), Defense Commissary Agency (DECA). Responsible for investigations to include the receipt and evaluation of complaints; allegations of injustices; conditions detrimental to the operation of the commissary system; fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA); gross mismanagement, serious security violations, and loss prevention.

Duties

Processes and monitors a full caseload of investigation cases, self-assigned for follow-up and closure. Prepares reports of inquiry and investigation involving complex and sensitive matters, when appropriate. Conducts inquiries and investigations involving complex and or sensitive matters, and responds to requests for assistance, complaints, and allegations of injustices when established means of redress are unavailable. Develops, initiates. revises, and maintains the investigations and loss prevention operational procedures to ensure mission credibility and integrity, and to ensure the safeguarding of sensitive information. Provides oral and written instructions to subordinates concerning operational procedures and takes appropriate corrective action for non-compliance with those procedures. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments and the capabilities of employees. Qualifications

You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 1810 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Your resume must clearly show that you have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade. Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military. Experience: Your resume must clearly show that you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12. Examples of Specialized experience: Prepares reports of inquiry and investigation involving complex and sensitive matters. Analyze and evaluate information gathered from investigations to reach a conclusion and make recommendations. Conducts inquiries and investigations involving complex and or sensitive matters. You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Additional Requirements that must be met by the closing date: Physical requirements: The work does not require any special physical effort or demands. Time-in-grade applies to the promotion of current and former federal employees who hold or have held a permanent GS position in either the competitive or excepted service in the previous 52 weeks, including current employees applying under VEOA. Time after competitive appointment.
