About the Position: This is a Production Machinery Mechanic (Machine Repair) Position. This position will be filled at the WG-9, WG-10, or full performance WG-11 with the Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center out of Rock Island, Illinouis.

Duties

Repair or modify difficult mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic production or industrial equipment. Manufacture, modify, or rebuild complex hydraulic pumps. Perform preventative maintenance on industrial machinery. Troubleshoot equipment to determine the area of difficulty to complete repairs. Utilize geometry, complex shop mathematics, and handbook formulas for surfaces with interrelated dimensions. Apply construction and assembly techniques to manufacture replacement parts with complex configurations.

The work of the position normally includes modifying or rebuilding hydraulic pumps, diagnosing mechanical problems; performing maintenance on machinery; and setting up a variety of machine tools. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
