You will serve as a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic Supervisor in the Production Division, Public Works Department New London of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will plan, direct, control, organize, and coordinate rigging operations. You will enforce all standard operating procedures and weight handling governance as associated with weight handling execution and safety. You will provide transportation services in the form of construction and weight handling operations and rigging services to support the mission. You will utilize Maximo and all other applicable software programs and applications to track maintenance and repair tasks from start to completion. You will investigate work related problems such as cost overruns, work schedule delays, and quality issues.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Class B Commerical Driver's License (CDL).
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You may be designated as Essential personnel and required to report for duty or held in duty status to provide support before, during, and/or after special emergency situations.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You may at any time be assigned to a similar position at any site or workstation within the commuting area.
