About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/U. S. Army Forces Strategic Command, Deputy Chief of Staff, G-2, Security Division, duty location Peterson AFB, CO.
Duties
Serve as Special Security Representative (SSR) and Security Manager for the Command.
Develop, implement, and manage all aspects of a comprehensive security program for operation of Secure Rooms and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).
Coordinate problems, changes or upgrades to physical stature of SCIF with the Special Security Officer (SSO).
Manage the Collateral and SCI security programs to include personnel, information, information systems, physical, operations, and communications security education.
Provide all aspects of the complex SCI/collateral security programs and their interface with other related operational or security functions.
Serve as alternate Special Security Officer (SSO) for G-2 Security Division
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Requires Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 20% of the time.
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial period may be required.

Specialized experience is defined as experience handling Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) in support of at least one of the following: conducting Personnel Security, Information Security, Physical Security, or Industrial Security. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11). ??????

Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
