Job opening: LEAD TRAVEL SPECIALIST

Salary: $117 962 - 153 354 per year
Employment Type: Full-time
This position is part of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), Office of Administration (OA), Corporate Travel and Relocation Division. As a Lead Travel Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise, guidance, and project leadership to a team of employees responsible for executing DFC's domestic and international travel and relocation program.

As a Lead Travel Specialist, you will perform the following duties:

  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a FAC-COR Level I certification.

Qualifications

Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level). Applicants must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements no later than the closing date of this announcement. TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirements: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your experience serving as a technical authority on the interpretation and application of travel and relocation regulations; reviewing changes in regulatory guidance related to travel and relocation and making recommendations for update to agency policies and procedures; implementing policies and/or procedures for an agency-wide travel and relocation program; assisting with budget reporting and forecasting for travel and relocation; administering a travel card program; providing guidance to employees and demonstrated expertise and understanding of travel related systems; and presenting training to agency employees on agency travel and relocation procedures. Note: Education does not substitute for specialized experience at this grade level. Applicants who meet eligibility and specialized experience for this position may be invited complete a Written Assessment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
