This AIRMAN AND FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST is located in the Force Support Squadron, Mission Support Group, of an Air National Guard (ANG) Wing and is part of the CA 195th WG.

Duties

THIS IS A T5 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION The primary purpose of the AIRMAN AND FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST, GS-0301-11, is to serve as the family readiness and support services representative at an ANG Wing and coordinate concurrently with the Force Support Squadron Commander/Human Resources Officer (Director of Personnel (DP)) at each wing, Joint Force Headquarters - State (JFHQ-ST) Family Program Director, NGB Family Programs Office, and US Air Force/Major Command (MAJCOM) Family Readiness Directors. The incumbent analyzes current family support offered through the Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD), Service and State programs, identifies shortfalls, and develops, manages, and monitors programs in support of Wing Families. Additionally, incumbent provides guidance to the Wing leadership in the development and implementation of a family readiness and support program and provides family readiness assistance at the geographically separated unit(s) (GSU).

Qualifications

AIRMAN AND FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST, GS-0301-11: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-09 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations; Experience managing the coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scope, development, design and direction of the family readiness and support programs; Experience providing guidance to the ANG Wing leadership in the development and implementation of a family readiness and support programs; Experience conducting projects and studies using a variety of analytical techniques in order to document needs and concerns in regards to family readiness and well being. Education

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work required
