The primary purpose of this position is to de-arm, download, inspect, troubleshoot, repair/replace, upload and install a variety of aircraft ordnance systems components to include egress and canopy jettison systems, aircraft bomb, rocket/cruise missile and special weapons launching and release devices, and emergency rescue systems on a wide variety of military aircraft.
Duties
De-arms and makes safe for maintenance aircraft egress and escape systems, aircraft ordnance, armament, and weapons systems components in preparation for aircraft storage.
Prepares aircraft egress and escape systems for flight.
Installs and removes explosive cartridges in aircraft fire extinguishers systems in preparation for aircraft flight.
Maintains tools and equipment in accordance with established directives and the Foreign Object Damage protection program.
Performs duties and assignments while remaining mindful of all safety requirements and incorporating the use of all mandatory personnel protective equipment.
Effectively completes tasks and work assignments on a timely basis and in accordance with Maintenance Training & Production Acceptance Certification (PAC) Program requirements for task completions.

- Incumbent must have completed aircrew egress systems apprentice course or have equivalent training/ experience IAW AFMC 21-108.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-6600 Armament Work Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
The screen out element for this position is Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision.

WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is performed either inside or outside, and subjects the employee to prevailing weather conditions, noise,
slippery or uneven surfaces, and working in confined areas. Exposed to the possibility of cuts, burns, grease, oil, dirt,
electrical shock, and possible injury when de-arming and arming the system.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
