Duties
This Intelligence Operations Specialist - Cyber Analyst position is located Intelligence and Analysis, Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Duties include but are not limited to:
Monitors, research, reports, and initiates products and briefings on multiple, varying, complex, specialized assignments related to cyber threat and/or risks to transportation for TSA operational components and private industry transportation security stakeholders.
Initiates, performs, and reviews complex and specialized analyses of intelligence reports regarding cyberattacks or incidents of cyber espionage that affect transportation.
Interprets and assesses information and data to identify trends, patterns, linkages, and draw conclusions based on current and past cyber threat intelligence, cyberattacks, and incidents of cyber espionage to advance TSA's understanding of cyber threats to transportation and inform the development of new TSA regulations, and policies.
Serves as lead for complex, innovative projects on evolving cyber threats to transportation in collaboration with TSA, DHS, and Intelligence Community counterparts.
Collaborates with senior representatives of TSA, DHS, Intelligence Community and law enforcement community partners to ensure, a comprehensive understanding of cyber threats/risks affecting transportation.
Mentors analysts and provides guidance when responding to customer needs and information requests, supporting operational decision-making, and collaborating and coordinating with members of the US Intelligence Community and DHS Intelligence Enterprise.
Qualifications
To qualify for the SV-J Pay Band (equivalent to GS-14), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-I or GS-13 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Such Specialized Experience defined as:
- Experience applying intelligence and analytic processes, standards and tradecraft to perform and enhance analyses of emerging cyber adversary tactics and threats to the US transportation sector; and)
- Experience expressing information to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of sensitive information: and)
- Experience writing, reviewing and editing cyber intelligence assessment products from multiple sources.
Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
