Physician Applicants - Education and length of practice (experience) will be considered by a Professional Standards Board and Compensation Panel in determining the salary of the applicant selected. Exceptions to the salary care must be approved.
This is a Pay Table 4 Tier 2 position. Salary range $145,000 to $295,900

The Executive Director, National Teleradiology Program (NTP) is a full-time position that reports to the Deputy Executive Director, Diagnostic Services, Veterans Health Administration (VHA) located at VA Central Office (VACO), Washington, DC. The incumbent will provide overall planning, direction, management, execution, and evaluation of NTP operations. The Executive Director ensures that program goals and objectives are accomplished cost-effectively and sets forth standards, policies, and procedures to accomplish those goals. The incumbent must also plan appropriately for future NTP needs as new national projects and goals are identified. The incumbent supervises the Deputy and Associate Directors, and Division Chiefs of NTP. The Executive Director, NTP is responsible for NTP operations, budget, personnel, performance, and strategic plan.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR A PHYSICIAN
U.S. Citizen
English Language Proficiency
Degree of doctor of medicine Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from an institution whose accreditation was in place for the year in which the course of study was completed. Approved schools are: (1) Schools of medicine accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) for the year in which the degree was granted, or (2) Schools of osteopathic medicine approved by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) of the American Osteopathic Association for the year in which the degree was granted. (3) For foreign medical graduates not covered in (1) or (2) above, facility officials must verify with the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) that the applicant has met requirements for certification, and must obtain a copy of the ECFMG certificate, if claimed by the applicant.
Residency Training Physicians must have completed residency training or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Approved residencies include those approved by the accrediting bodies for graduate medical education, Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or American Osteopathic Association, or other residences which the Professional Standards Board determines to have provided appropriate professional training.
Licensure Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States or in the District of Columbia. The Physician must maintain a current registration to continue employment with the VA.

DEMONSTRATED LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must possess extensive leadership experience in the health care arena sufficient to qualify for the equivalent of a senior executive equivalent position within the Federal service. In addition, the incumbent is broadly acquainted with clinical treatment modalities, administrative and clinical support systems and is knowledgeable about multifaceted health care delivery systems.

B. TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS (TQ):
1. Demonstrated leadership experience in administering and managing healthcare operations is a large complex healthcare delivery system.
2. Ability to implement quality assurance and improvement systems and safety initiatives in a distributed healthcare environment.
3. Capability to manage a large professional and technical workforce in a distributed healthcare environment.
4. Understanding of complex technical issues in support of teleradiology systems and infrastructure.
5. Ability to conceptualize, plan, and implement strategic goals and tactical initiatives in support of the National Teleradiology Program and organizations directions.

Preferred Requirements:
Possess experience as a Chief of Staff or equivalent scope and complexity of the assignment and the level of responsibility.
A recognized expert in the specialty are with demonstrated leadership ability.
Distinguished Physician will be nationally and internationally recognized for scientific, academic, and administrative medicine expertise.
