About the Position: Position located at US Army Cadet Command, Deputy Chief of Staff, Junior ROTC (JROTC), Instructor Management Division, Fort Knox, KY
Duties
Conduct pre-employment security checks, ensuring thorough review, tracking and completion.
Apply advanced personnel and security management techniques, military methods, and ROTC program administration within the agency ROTC accession program.
Verify data accuracy to produce tailored reports for management guidance and staff, command briefings, future FY year program requirements and projections.
Communicate with management at all levels to coordinate the acquisition of sensitive information
Provide guidance and assistance in the administration of the JROTC Instructor Background Check program.
Assess customer needs, provide advisory services, and make recommendations regarding security clearances based on thorough case analysis
Analyze security clearances and suitability policies to accurately adjudicate investigations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- Temporary Duty (TDY), approximately 5% of the time.
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment Drug Screen.
- One year probationary period may be required.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Conducting background investigations and providing guidance to staff regarding background check policies and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
Education
