This position is located at Office of the Inspector General for Tax Admin,Principal Deputy Inspector General. As a Chief of Staff, you will serve as the Chief of Staff to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) and reports directly to the Inspector General (IG) or Principal Deputy Inspector General (PDIG).

Duties

As a Chief of Staff, you will: Act as senior advisor to the IG or PDIG on the most difficult, important, and complex matters affecting TIGTA. Assist or represent the IG and PDIG in both internal Treasury and external meetings and/or briefings that require access to classified national security information and/or where policy is developed and determined. Establish and maintain close, continuing contact and effective liaison with Treasury policy offices, bureaus, congressional offices, other Government agencies, non-profit organizations, and other high-level officials to further the efforts of TIGTA. Represent TIGTA on various high-level departmental, interdepartmental committees, and oversight or engagement boards. Act in an advisory capacity to the IG, PDIG, or as assigned to key officials within TIGTA, advising them of possible courses of action and the consequences thereof on controversial, complex, or unique problems.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility at the GS-14 level in the Federal service or equivalent. This experience will have equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes: - Leading information management and/or analytics projects relevant to organization goals and operational objectives from start to completion by managing the scope, schedule, cost, and risk to ensure proper monitoring, milestone achievement, and project success; AND - Researching, analyzing, and evaluating information, drawing conclusions, and devising innovative solutions; AND - Developing, prioritizing, and delivering improvement projects using strategic planning tools, business goals, directives, and risk analysis results; AND - Advising senior leadership and diverse stakeholders on relevant methods, tools, and products to facilitate effective oversight of strategic business goals. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14level for 52 weeks.
