Duties

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PHYSICAL THERAPIST in the Commander, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group TWO, Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story (JEBLC-FS), VIRGINIA. You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work You will evaluate, analyze, research, and implement program guidance for the EOD FRP to validate current and future requirements You will manage resources, contracting, procurement, budget, facilities, and assigned equipment. You will perform and practice orthopedic physical therapy. You will apply new and developing methodologies as solutions to complex multifactorial problems resistant to traditional rehabilitation approaches.

  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You must be certified by National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as Strength and Conditioning Specialist working with Special Operations personnel, Division 1 collegiate athletes, Olympic athletes and/or professional athletes.
  • You must be certified by American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) with a minimum of five (5) years of practicing OCS experience.
  • You must be a certified Advanced Dry Needling Provider.
  • You must be a certified Blood Flow Restriction Provider.
  • You must be certified by American Physical Therapy Association as Credentialed Clinical Instructor.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: A graduate or higher level degree that included: A physical therapy curriculum approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs(external link) (CAAHEP) or a professional accrediting organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education(external link) at the time the degree was obtained; and Completion of the clinical requirements prescribed by the school. LICENSURE: For all grade levels and positions, applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physical Therapist from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; and must have passed the National Physical Therapy Examination administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy(external link) (FSBPT). EXPERIENCE: In addition to the basic requirements listed above, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Experience performing a wide range of complex physical therapy duties requiring a mastery level practical knowledge of physical therapy, evidence-based medicine, and data collection. Experience applying the use of therapeutic modalities and new integrative techniques and technologies for the purpose of evaluation and ongoing treatment. Experience participating in continuing education seminars, workshops, and lectures to update knowledge of current treatments and technologies, fitness and exercise concepts and maintain required certifications. Experience administering physical therapy interventions to Special Operations personnel, Division 1 collegiate athletes, Olympic athletes and/or professional athletes for a minimum of three (3) years.
