Duties

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) serves as the world leader in providing timely, relevant, accurate and actionable geospatial intelligence (GEOINT). NGA's civilian, military and contract personnel evaluate imagery, maps, charts, multiple layers of foundation data - such as terrain, elevation and gravity - and the full spectrum of visible and invisible light in order to help users visualize what is happening at a particular place and time. Our intelligence officers go beyond describing "what, where and when" to revealing "how and why" our work enables decision advantage for our policymakers, warfighters, intelligence professionals and first responders. Duties: 1. Advise leadership and investigation officials on significant findings and developments2.Conduct preliminary inquiries and determine whether complaints have merit and recommend appropriate investigations3. Research, analyze, and collect investigative data; identify gaps and patterns within investigations; author draft reports Additional Information: Administrative Investigators conduct independent, objective administrative and criminal investigations and inquiries, and prepare reports on allegations regarding employee misconduct, unethical behavior, fraud, waste and abuse, gross mismanagement, and other violations of law/policy under the authorities derived from the Inspector General Act of 1978. Administrative Investigators function as the liaison with the Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS) and other federal investigative agencies, and conduct fraud awareness and prevention briefings to selected NGA audiences. They perform these functions in accordance with Agency and NGA Office of Inspector General (OIG) written guidance and established Council of Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) standards. Apply Federal statutory and regulatory standards pertinent to the conduct of investigations or reviews of violations of law, rule or regulation; or Inspector General oversight responsibilities and functions; conduct investigations to include taking testimony and preparing comprehensive narrative reports of investigation; demonstrated ability to communicate orally, and writing in order to present briefing. Ability to write factual reports, and correspondence.OIG Work Posture Statement: OIG will leverage in-person presence, maxi-flex, ad hoc telework, and leave; as appropriate. In Person presence is essential to community, sense of belonging, enhances communication, collaboration and coordination, as well as employee engagement. Ad hoc telework can add value to the OIG work posture when used appropriately; and is fully accountable and outcome based. Routine telework is not approved as part of the normal OIG work posture. There may be extenuating Circumstances to normal conditions; these exceptions will be addressed on a case-by-case basis. To receive the incentive, selected candidates will be required to sign a service agreement to stay within the position at NGA for the agreed upon time. If the service agreement is terminated before its completion, the employee may be required to repay a pro rata share amount of the incentive to the government. Qualifications

MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Develops interview lists and questions, conducts or assists in interviews/debriefs according to guidelines, and documents results.4. Demonstrate understanding of case management processes (e.g. required documentation, annotations, and timeliness). 5. Demonstrated experience in written, and oral communication with drafting reports of investigtions and providing briefs conveying relevant case information details.EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Police Science, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, plus professional investigative experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals to 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of professional investigative experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: 1. Knowledge of the Council of the Inspectors General in Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) quality standards for inspection, investigation, auditing, digital forensics, or other inspector general activities.2. Analyzes data and datasets to investigate trends or anomalies, establish relationships, or predict future patterns among events. Interprets the results of analyses to reach conclusions and develop recommendations.3. Identifies a need for and knows where and how to gather relevant information. Obtains, evaluates, organizes and maintains information.
