The selectee will serve as a Marine Inspector, responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in the enforcement of marine safety, vessel inspection, pollution prevention, vessel manning, regulations, treaties, and international conventions.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Qualifications
FOR THE GS-12: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Specialized experience includes:
-Reviewing technical vessel design and construction plans to determine compliance with regulations-Resolving maritime vessel inspection controversies-Identifying hazardous conditions and prescribe corrective actions.
