About the Position: Performs duties as an administrative assistant for the 30th Adjutant General Battalion (Reception), S-3 Operations Office in support of the organizations mission, and functions.

Duties

Performs duties as an administrative assistant for the 30th Adjutant General Battalion (Reception), S-3 Operations Office in support of the organizations mission, and functions. Performs regular and recurring work independently, exercising considerable initiative while performing duties in compliance with regulations, policies and procedures. Supervisor is available to provide assistance and guidance in resolving unusual problems. Completed work is subject to spot checks. Uses knowledge of the battalion operations, administrative procedures, training record processes and other clerical procedures to actively participate in the management of the office. Perform routine administrative and miscellaneous clerical functions. Serves as the office administrative assistant and as required backup for the battalion commander's secretary. Serves as the battalion training coordinator.

SPECIALIZE EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes performing office support services such as: using computer programs to store and retrieve data, creating a variety of correspondence in proper formats using word processing programs, maintaining manual and electronic calendars to add, delete or change meetings, purchasing of supplies and equipment, and verifying invoices prior to payment, and/or following office management policies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04) Education Substitution for the GS-05: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. Qualified Typist Requirement: In addition to meeting the experience or education requirements, for all positions titled as Office Automation or any clerical positions which has parenthetical title of Office Automation (OA), applicants must have typing proficiency of 40 words per minute (wpm). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementClericalCustomer Service Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04). All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcement.
