This position is located in the Air Traffic Organization (ATO), Mission Support Services. Mission Support Services provides administration of shared technical and program services that promote standardization of processes to support efficiency and effectiveness in the NAS.
Duties
As the General Engineer, applies experience with and comprehensive knowledge of several engineering disciplines such as Electrical, Electronic, and Mechanical engineering to serve as either the Project or Implementation Lead for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) large-scale infrastructure programs that transform, modernize and sustain the National Airspace System (NAS). As a principal technical specialist, he/she applies System Engineering technical management processes and tools such as configuration management, technical performance measures tools, and technical design tools to facilitate the development of the program acquisition approach, define program scope, and coordinate an integrated Master Plan. He/she applies experience tracing system requirements using software architecture to oversee the development and management of requirements so they align with system functionality and are traceable. Leads system software and hardware engineering team efforts to define system requirements, conduct alternative analyses, and develop program business cases.

Qualifications
Candidates must have one year (52 weeks) of SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (FV-I or FG/GS-13) that is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as:Experience with the development and management of complex system technical requirements and development of business case alternatives.Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses.You should include relevant examples of the specialized experience in your work history.
