The Architect and Facilities Supervisor position is within the Administrative Services Office (ASO) and reports directly to the Assistant Circuit Executive for Administrative Services. The incumbent performs professional and supervisory work related to the design and project management of courthouse construction, renovation, remodeling and tenant alteration projects, as well as the day-to-day building and property management.
Duties
The Architect and Facilities Supervisor serves as a first-line supervisor over one or more employees and ensures compliance with appropriate guidelines, policies, and internal controls.

Education
At a minimum, candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Specialized Experience
CL-29 ($94,359 to $153,366): Candidates must possess at least three years of progressively responsible specialized experience that provided knowledge of rules, regulations, and terminology in at least one but preferably two or more of the functional areas of space and facilities management such as architecture, project management, interior design, engineering, and facilities management. At least one of the three years of experience must have been specialized experience in supervisory or managerial professional work that provided an opportunity to acquire a thorough knowledge of the basic concepts, principles, policies, and theories of management. In addition, at least one year of specialized experience must have been at or equivalent to the CL-28 (GS-12).
CL-30 ($111,507 to $181,228): Candidates must possess at least four years of progressively responsible specialized experience that provided knowledge of rules, regulations, and terminology in at least one but preferably two or more of the functional areas of space and facilities management such as architecture, project management, interior design, engineering, and facilities management. At least two of the four years of experience must have been specialized experience in supervisory or managerial professional work that provided an opportunity to acquire a thorough knowledge of the basic concepts, principles, policies, and theories of management. In addition, at least one year of specialized experience must have been at or equivalent to the CL-29 (GS-13).
Required Competencies
Advanced knowledge of and professional experience using AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, or similar design drafting software.
Demonstrated well-developed organizational and time-management skills and proven ability to prioritize multiple demands and meet established deadlines and commitments.
Knowledge of and experience using SharePoint Online, Microsoft Office 365, and Adobe Acrobat.
Ability to work independently and to set priorities across multiple assignments, as well as to work cooperatively in a team environment.
Demonstrated leadership skills as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities within strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in architecture, interior design, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Prior experience in space and facilities management at the federal, state, or local government level.
Prior experience in interacting with high-ranking government officials on a regular basis.
Prior experience working with GSA.
Knowledge of the U.S. Courts Design Guide.
Education
