The FBI is seeking qualified licensed Clinical Psychologists to serve as consultants performing psychological evaluations which include administering and interpreting clinical and nonclinical psychological measures, performing psychological interviews, and writing psychological reports in both preemployment and employee contexts supporting psychological fitness-for-duty and/or security clearance determinations.

Duties

Serves as an Assessment Psychologist in the Human Resources Department who will be responsible of the pre-employment psychological screenings and evaluations of employees regarding their psychological fitness for duty. Reviews document and medical reports provided by applicants in order to obtain or continuation of a top secret clearance and suitability for employment. Consults with executive managers and Division heads regarding mental health issues impacting employees and their ability to effectively perform duties. Liaises with other law enforcement and intelligence community entities regarding the management of behavioral and psychological concerns throughout the agency to uphold consistency. Provides agency-wide training in clarifying concerns related to psychological fitness for duty and the required reporting of mental health, substances use, and behavioral concerns.

Qualifications

GS-14: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level. SE is defined as follows: Experience in Clinical Psychology, to include assessment processes, clinical interviews, and interpretation of psychological tests. Experience providing clinical consultation and guidance to management and other professionals on agency-wide, sensitive issues Experience conducting clinical interviews, gathering data, and developing reports containing mental health information. Experience providing clinical diagnoses, and treatment regimens as it relates to the impact of psychological issues on applicants or employees in day-to-day high stress/high demand work environments.

This position has a specific education requirement; all applicants must verify completion of this basic educational requirement by submitting a copy of their college transcripts by the closing date of the vacancy announcement:
  • Applicants MUST have a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology.
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above requirements provided you can show foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
