About the Position: As Construction Control Representative, the incumbent has full responsibility for the management and surveillance of assigned civil works and/or Military Construction program activities within the Kansas City District.
Duties
Provides technical assistance and support on the review of construction project plans and specifications to determine site compatibility and anticipated problems.
Observes work in progress and inspects completed work to ensure an acceptable level of workmanship, and to ensure that the project is being built to comply with the contractual plans and specifications.
Reviews contractors' receipt of materials and equipment procured by contractors' purchase orders.
Prepares various reports and correspondence pertaining to construction progress, payments, modifications, materials, delays in construction, etc.
Visit on-going construction sites to perform quality assurance and contract management activities.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position is subject to a mobility or rotation agreement as a condition of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
- This is a Temporary position intended to last 36 months. A temporary position may be terminated at any time during the duration of the appointment, depending upon the needs of management.

Specialized Experience for GS-11:

1) Apply a wide range of methods, techniques, procedures, policies, costs, materials, and equipment relating to construction sufficient to carry out plans and accomplish complete projects; 2) resolve a variety of complex construction problems; OR 3) observe and investigate all construction phases to ensure compliance with contract schedules, specifications and shop drawings
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-10).
