You will serve as a IT Specialist (INFOSEC) within NAVY SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY.
Duties
You will support the activity by developing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data.
You will conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks and protection needs.
You will plan, budget and execute adequate resources in support of Cyber Security.
You will provide leadership, management and development of Cyber Security policy, guidance, and requirements in support of government, private industry and related stakeholder participants.

- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 632, proficiency level Advanced the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the excepted service which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes:
Assessing and coordinating cross domain solutions providing connectivity between various systems at differing classifications levels in Cyber security.
Formulating and implementing information system/network infrastructure security strategy and consultation in support of government, private industry and related stakeholder's system requirements.
Utilizing mastery in Cyber Security/IT relationships and processes to compress completion time in the Engineering System Life Cycle process and ensuring adequate security of the network at all times.
Communicating orally and in writing to represent the Program Office at internal and external meetings.
