Duties
This position is located under the Office of Public and Governmental Affairs, Digital Media Division, Visual Media Branch in Washington, District of Columbia.
Qualifications
To qualify for 12, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level 11.
Additional Conditions of Employment:
GS-12 - You qualify if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal, State, or Local government or equivalent public or private sector experience, performing the following duties:
utilizing all aspects of video documentation and digital video editing, audio capture and manipulation, use and creation of video special effects, script writing, and proper video formats to meet messaging requirements; and
modifying, adapting, and operating audio-visual equipment such as television cameras, video, CD and DVD duplication systems; and
operating portable and studio lighting instruments and post-production equipment & systems such as Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, or other Non-Linear Editing (NLE) software equivalent to produce professional audiovisual work products; and
applying established rules in direction including camera angles, continuity, cutting, and composition.
communicating effectively with colleagues, external entities, and management.
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

Position requires physical exertion such as bending, stooping, standing for long periods, lifting moderately heavy equipment items, and potentially wearing heavy body protective equipment.
Work involves moderate to high risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions while handling equipment for performing video assignments.
Work environments include high heat and humidity, extreme cold, documenting incident/training scenes, aerial documentation and unfamiliar rooms and buildings.
