Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: You must meet the basic requirement(s) for this position. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Individual Occupational Requirements (IORs) for the Audiovisual Production Series, 1071 series are as follows: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position.Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis. OR Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes work directly connected with the production aspects of the field(s) of the position to be filled. IN ADDITION TO THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS YOU MUST ALSO MEET THE FOLLOWING SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE. Specialized experience is defined as:  GS-14: You qualify for the GS-14 level (starting salary $139,395 ) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level performing duties such as: creating complex, interactive multi-media projects for broadcast, internet, or social media, requiring special effects, motion graphics, and creative design; producing professional, high quality, video, and audio in varied environments to meet the overall vision of the project; editing of raw videotape footage in the proper sequence; Leads groups of diverse stakeholders on various projects. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.Time-in-Grade: Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. Qualifications Must Be Met: The qualification requirements listed above must be met by the closing date of this announcement. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
