This National Guard position is for a HR SPEC (MIL), Position Description Number NGD2014000 and is part of JFHQ-G1. This is a Permanent, Title 32, Dual-Status position.

Duties
As a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY), GS-0203-07, you will:
This position is located in the Military Personnel Office (MILPO) of the Army National Guard. The purpose of this position is to serve as the final reviewer and procedural authority of personnel actions submitted to the MILPO by lower echelons. Work is to be performed in one or more of the following work areas: Officer or Enlisted Personnel Management (OPM, EPM); Retirement Points Accounting Management (RPAM); Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP); Motgomery G.I. Bill; Line of Duty (LOD) investigations; Standard Installation and Division Personnel System (SIDPERS); Physical Disability Evaluation System (PDES); to include MEB/PEB; Incapacitation Pay (INCAP); Mobilization (MOB)/ Demobilization (DEMOB); Military Medical Support Office (MMSO); Community Based Health Care Organization (CBHCO); and Warrior Transition Unit (WTU); Active Duty Medical Extensions (ADME); Medical Retention Processing 2 (MRP2); Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP).

- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
Qualifications
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED:This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: The military grade of the full-time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Administrative or clerical experience, education, or training which demonstrates the candidate's ability to perform the duties of the position. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 12 months experience in the interpretation and application of regulations, procedures or laws. Experience that provided a working knowledge of administrative functions. Experience performing personnel transactions. Experience working independently and setting priorities with very little supervisory control.

Skill to work independently and set priorities with very little supervisory control.
Knowledge of analytical math and have effective oral and written communication skills with a customer service support base.
Skill to provide and perform a segment of the human resource actions which requires knowledge of processing a variety of unique official personnel tasks.
Skill in analyzing information to determine its relevance, and to provide options to management/supervisors/military members regarding appropriate course of action.
