This National Guard position is for a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT, Position Description Number NGD1047000 and is part of the HRO. This is a Title 32, Dual-Status position. *** Indefinite Tenure- May be converted to Permanent per management discretion.***
**Work location will either be in Rapid City, SD or Sioux Falls, SD. One vacancy only. **

Duties
As a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT, GS-0203-7, you will:
This position is located in the Human Resources Office. The primary purpose of the position is to provide limited technical assistance to Human Resources Specialists within the office and to managers, supervisors, and technicians of the serviced organization for a wide range of human resources matters. Performs work in two or more of the following human resource specialties. May accomplish work through the use of an automated system.
Requirements
- National Guard Membership is required.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
Qualifications
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT: Enlisted. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. The military grade of the full time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Administrative or clerical experience, education, or training which demonstrates the candidate's ability to perform the duties of the position. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 12 months experience in the interpretation and application of regulations, procedures or laws. Experience that provided a working knowledge of administrative functions. Experience performing personnel transactions. Experience working independently and setting priorities with very little supervisory control.

Skill in the interpretation and application of regulations, procedures or laws.
Knowledge of administrative functions.
Skill in performing personnel transactions.

** NOTE ** This is a temporary appointment with Indefinite tenure. Management reserves the right to convert this appointment to a permanent position without further competition and will discuss this option with applicants selected for interviews. Person selected for the position may be terminated at any time, upon 30-day written notice. If an On-Board, Title 5, Excepted Service Employee is selected for this position, their status will change to that of this appointment, and they will not be returned to their permanent position.
