This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Capitol Building, Capitol Building and Capitol Visitor Center Operations and Maintenance Division, Maintenance Branch, Plumbing Section. The selectee will serve as a journey-level or expert Pipefitter responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and installing plumbing systems and components in assigned Capitol Complex work sites that include monumental iconic historic buildings.

Duties

Tours of duty for the position is: Monday - Friday - 4:00am to 12:30pm

Qualifications

You must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements by the closing date of the job announcement.You must meet the following SCREEN-OUT(S) required for this position. Ability to do the work of a journey-level pipefitter without more than normal supervision. WG-8 - Skilled worker for pipefitter skills and performs troubleshooting, repair and installing plumbing systems and components. WG-10- Journey-level pipefitter skills and performs troubleshooting, repair and installing plumbing systems and components. WG-11- Expert-level pipefitter skills and performs troubleshooting, repair and installing plumbing systems and components. Also must be able to perform duties of a welder in accordance with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and installation of Backflow Preventers.
