About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare, and Recreation, Army Community Services Division. Ft Hood covers a total of 340 square miles and rests in the beautiful 'hill and lake' country of Central Texas, between Killeen and Copperas Cove.

Duties

Promote awareness of the nature of family violence. Serve as the primary subject matter expert on all matters involving domestic violence. Provide command information regarding emerging prevention and treatment issues and trends and results of prevention programs conducted. Provide crisis intervention, intake and referral for active duty military and family members. Oversee operation of a 24-hour crisis line. Identify program resource requirements and provide Family Advocacy Program budget input. Provide oversight for contractors and inter-service support agreement personnel working in the Family Advocacy Program.

• This position may require occasional travel from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
• This position requires working non-standard duty hours, such as overtime, weekends, or on-call status.
• This position requires Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required up to 5%.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
• This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 or above).
