About the Position: This position is located in the Surgical Operations Squadron (SGCS), in the Mike O'Callaghan Military Medical Center at the 99th Medical Group, Nellis Air Force Base. The Medical Group is comprised of around 1,400 personnel who are dedicated to providing preventive, emergency and acute care services for approximately 22,000 active duty personnel, their dependents and more than 40,000 retirees, their dependents and other eligible beneficiaries.

Duties

Carry out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, answers emails and correspondence, schedules meetings, manages calendars, and supports visitors. Review documents for correct format, grammar, spelling, punctuation, assembly or related materials, and distribution. Facilitate administrative support tasks, such as assisting guests, organizing meetings, answering phones, or preparing materials or reports. Maintain files and information in accordance with regulatory requirements. Screen calls and visitors to the office referring to subordinate staff members and forwarding only those calls or visitors requiring the command attention.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • Must participate in the Medical Employee Health Program and will be subject required immunizations and testing pursuant to governing guidance.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.

OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Health Care Management, Business Administration or English OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ClericalComputer SkillsCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical) Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
