This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent develops, maintains, and leads the overall J-7 scheduling enterprise including key J-7 program and project timelines, key meetings, and event dates in direct support to Chief of Staff (COS) who works directly for the Joint Staffs (JS) Director for Joint Force Development (DJ-7), a three-star General Officer/Flag Officer (GO/FO).
Duties
As a MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (PROCESS IMPROVEMENT) at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Establishes, develops, and implements new internal information process policies and procedures throughout the J-7 providing the framework for capturing, harnessing, analyzing, and exploiting intellectual capital improving upon individual and organizational performance;
Performs extensive and sensitive coordination in fact finding, finalizing recommendations, procuring senior/executive-level decisions, and implementing the senior/ executive-level recommendations;
Performs the Lead facilitator role for Directorate-level wide scheduling information processes (E.g., meetings, document flows, staff collaboration calendar activities) across multiple information technology mediums and in-person to facilitate and enable J-7 strategic engagement plans and activities;
Provides administrative support to the Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2) within the Directorate, coordinating the assignment, distribution, tracking and close-out directorate ETMS2 taskers, as well as maintain accountability of the assignment of Directorate ETMS2 licenses
Formulates strategies and plans for implementing and leveraging online communities, discussion forums, and other collaborative technologies.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS- 13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Applies a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for planning, assessing, and improving the effectiveness of information processes, functions, and systems to include applying experimental theories to issues not susceptible to treatment by accepted methods or making decisions that affect important public policies or programs;
Works with other J-7 staff components, other JS directorates and special staff offices, OSD, the Services, and other Department of Defense (DoD) components and agencies to develop and make recommendations to executive JS leadership;
Leads analytical efforts where proposals involve substantial agency resource, require extensive changes in established procedures or to establish new procedures, or may be in conflict with the desires of activities analyzed;
Applies concepts, principles, practices, and techniques of administrative management analysis and application of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative analytical and evaluation methods to identify and advise on problems and programs

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
