About the position: This position will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation on Travis Air Force Base, CA .
Physical Effort: Frequent lifting and carrying heavy objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds. Constantly lifting or carrying objects weighing 80 to 100 pounds or more with assistance.
Intermittent (Flexible) employees have no guaranteed hours but may work up to 40 hours per week.

Duties
Loads, unloads, or relocates heavy or bulky items from boxcars, trucks, and other conveyances; carriers and assembles scaffolding.
Digs ditches and trenches with pick and shovel where dirt is hard and compact.
Performs grading and sloping; occasionally and for short periods of time
Breaks up pavement with jackhammer; mixes and pours concrete, asphalt, and hotmix; fills and levels holes in damaged roads.
Uses heavy (not domestic type) power mowers; adjust blades, and cleans and oils mowers; cuts trees, using ax or chainsaw.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination to ensure the level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.

Qualifying Experience:
Manual skills and prior work experience is required to work safely with heavy hand tools. Must have the ability to operate, control and clean heavy powered equipment. Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry heavy objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds. Work that requires the skills and knowledge in operating heavy equipment, continually involves extreme physical effort; such as, constant lifting or carrying 80 to 100 pounds or more with assistance.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
