The primary purpose of this position is to exercise technical expertise and limited administrative supervision over subordinate workers in planning, scheduling, and supervision of work accomplished within the Power Production Shop, Infrastructure Support Element.

- Works in strained positions and is subject to lifting heavy parts and fixtures up to 50 pounds. Exercises close hand/eye coordination in performing assembly and adjusting tasks.
- Works inside and outside, subject to inclement weather, dust, dirt, grease, fumes, electrical shock and around equipment emitting loud/hazardous noise and hazards of working close to high voltage electrical lines.
- The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle up to and including a 2-1/2 ton truck. An appropriate, valid driver's license will be required for the position.
- Position may be required to operate a forklift up to 15,000 pound capacity to move heavy power support equipment.
- This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.
- Shift work will be required and Emergency overtime may be required.
- May work with hazardous materials such as asbestos or accumulated waste. Employee will be required to wear protective clothing and gear on these occasions.

- Will be required to have a Certificate of Competency as required by AFI 32-1043, para 1.2.3, in order to perform daily inspections on an aircraft arresting system.
- Work requires frequent stooping, stretching, bending, kneeling and working in tiring, uncomfortable positions for long periods of time.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-5300 - Industrial Equipment Maintenance Family . Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
