About the Position: This position is for a Human Resources Specialist (Military), GS-0201-09 with US Army Warrior Transition Unit, Soldier Recovery Brigade; Bethesda, MD 20889
This a Term NTE 3 years position.
Duties
Apply military human resource rules, regulations, procedures, and/or operations pertaining to management of military officer or enlisted soldier resources.
Analyze military data to determine its validity to prepare reports using a variety of automated systems, databases, spreadsheets, and/or word processing software.
Oversee the writing of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and information papers to be used for daily operations.
Prepare, review and track military personnel actions until completions ensuring compliance with established guidance and standards.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for access for the duration of employment.
- All employees assigned to a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) are required to be screened for applicable immunizations and are subject to missing/required immunizations.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes advising on human resources programs, policies or regulations; managing personnel utilization, monitoring personnel strength and utilizing automated human resources applications to process and/or track personnel actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration or Human Resources Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
