Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance. This position is located in the Office of the Register of Copyrights and Office of the Director U.S. Copyright Office. The position description number for this position is 336530. The salary range reflects the locality pay adjustments for the Washington, D.C., Metro area. The incumbent of this position will work a flextime, compflex or maxiflex work schedule. This is a non-supervisory, non-bargaining unit position.

Duties

Using an extensive and expert knowledge of the Copyright Office's organization and functions, strategic priorities, and the Register's immediate priority initiatives, independently plans, implements and evaluates a variety of programs. Regularly interacts with, and oversees the services provided by caterers, musicians/entertainers, audio-visual providers, room or space coordinators, printers and media specialists, and all other necessary disciplines necessitated by the requirements of the individual event. Negotiates details with, and coordinates logistical and other necessary arrangements with external speakers, presenters, and/or performers, many of which have national and international reputations in their areas of specialty. Creates and maintains detailed budgets and other records which provide a permanent record of each project complete life-cycle. Performs post event evaluations and documents lessons learned for future reference.

Applicants must have had progressively responsible experience and training sufficient in scope and quality to furnish them with an acceptable level of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position without more than normal supervision. Ability to provide administrative program management that support the goals and objectives of the organization.** Ability to exercise judgment and discretion.** Ability to serve as a liaison and interact collaboratively with others.** Ability to perform project and program management functions. Ability to communicate effectively in writing. Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing.
